Sword Art Online (SAO)

Sword Art Online, or SAO, is split in two parts. The first part is about a game, called Sword Art Online. It is a virtual reality game in which people are fully immersed in the game, intercepting the commands from their brains to the headset and causing them to feel the movements in the game and move their in game avatars as if they were their real life bodies At first, the main character, known only by his avatar's name Kirito, was a beta tester and the game is finally coming out to the public. At first, everything seems normal with the game. Then, he notices something strange. The logout button is missing from the menu. When he is called to a suspicious gathering of all of the players of the game, the creator of the game, Akihiko Kayaba blocks everyone into the square and explains that if anyone dies in the game or has their headset shut down or taken off, they will die in real life. After that, players are eager to beat the game, which is the only way to get back to the real world. It is at the battle for the first floor boss that Kirito meets Asuna. After the battle, Asuna and Kirito get closer to each other as they learn more about each other until they eventually marry each other in the virtual world and take a break from fighting on the front lines. When they are called back to the front lines from their break early, it is to raid a tough boss that they would need all of the people they could get for. After the battle is over, Kirito notices something strange about one of the players and beats the game before they get to the last floor by killing Akihiko Kayaba and wakes up in the real world for the first time in two years.

The second part is about Kirito, or Kazuto, in the real world. He is with his cousin, Suguha. At first, Asuna has not yet woken up from SAO. Kazuto then sees a picture from a new game, Alfheim Online. Alfheim Online, or ALO, is a game about fairies. When Kazuto sees a blurry picture that looks like it is Asuna in the game in a cage in a tree, he borrows that game from a friend. He would normally have more time to rescue her from the game, but the person who is holding her in the game has convinced her parents to let him marry her in a few days, so he has to act quickly. When he goes into the game, he finds that for some reason, he still has all of his SAO stats and skills. He tries to find his way to the tree, but he runs into Leafa, a Sylph who is determined to help him get to the tree after he saves her. When she leaves with him to go to the tree, they run into a problem. The Salamanders are about to try to take out the Sylph leader, and Leafa has to go save her. Kirito goes with her and saves the Sylph leader, then gives her all of his money in the hope of gaining her help in raiding the tree to save Asuna. He then goes to the tree and finds out that Asuna is there. He doesn't know how tp get to her at first, and he tries to fight his way to the top, but he dies in the tree, and Leafa saves him. When she saves him, he tells her about Asuna and she realizes that he is actually her cousin and he realizes that Leafa is Suguha. Then, Leafa and her friend help him to raid the tree, and they are losing, when the Sylph leader and a bunch of Sylphs show up and help Kirito to reach the top of the tree and get to Asuna. When he gets to Asuna, Sugou, the person who is supposed to marry her and the person who trapped her in the game traps them and Kirito eventually rescues Asuna and meets up with her in the real world.
